We will visit the city of Cusco and its surroundings on the City Tour, the tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, the trip to Machu Picchu and the Southern Valley (visiting Tipon, Pikillaqta, and Andahuaylillas).

Itinerary

Day 1: Lima / Cusco – City Tour in Cusco

A representative of our company will be there waiting for you so that we can pick you up at the airport and welcome you. We’ll then transport you to your chosen hotel. He will then give you the plans for the day. We will also solve any other worry that you may have. The rest of the day free.

City Tour of Cusco and it’s surroundings

In the afternoon, at around 13:20 and 13:40, we will come by your hotel to pick you up so that we can begin the City Tour together with the rest of your travel partners at 14:00.

We will begin our trip with a visit to the Cathedral in Cusco. We will continue with the Church in Qoricancha, Saqsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay. We will then return to the city of Cusco at around 18:45.

This trip lasts for 4 hours.

Day 2: Tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas

This day we start the tour with us picking up our travellers at their respective hotels, in which you all should have already had your breakfast and be prepared for the beginning of our trip. We will pass by the hotel, depending upon the distance in which it is located, leaving at around 8:20 in the morning.

Once we are all together we will begin the trip that will take us to the town of Pisaq, located 20 minutes from the town of Pisaq, where we will visit the traditional handicraft market and the main square. We will continue along the route so that we can get to the River Vilcanota, until we arrive in Urubamba, where we will have an exquisite lunch buffet. Then, we will visit Ollantaytambo, one of the Inca structures that 70% intact. The streets have the same design, together alongside the water canals, as they did during Inca times. Then we will go by to observe the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, an imperial Inca structure. Returning back to Cusco, we will get to see the town of Chinchero, a small town where they still keep up the tradition of their typical colorful way of dress. We will head back to Cusco and spend the night there.

 Day 3: Cusco – Trip to Machu Picchu – Cusco

Early in the morning, we will pass by the hotel so that we can take you to the train station in Ollantaytambo. Once we are there we will get on the train so that we can take you to Aguas Calientes. There we will have a short stay so that we can buy some snacks and some water. We will then board the bus and go up the zigzagging road for about 30 minutes until we get to the entry point to go into Machu Picchu. While going up we will get to appreciate the Urubamba Valley and the mountains that surround the majestic Machu Picchu. Once we are registered at the gate of entry, we will go on the journey along with our guide. We will go by the main sites of the agricultural and the urban zones, where we will get to see the Intiwatana, the Temple of the Sun, the Three Windows, and other points of interest. The journey will be about 2 hours long.

After the guided tour, you will have free time to visit the archaeological site on your own time. You will also get to visit the Inca Bridge, which is located 30 minutes walking distance from the top of Machu Picchu. If you have the reserved entry ticket to Huayna Picchu, you can do this at this time. Afterwards we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes so that we can have lunch and visit the town and then we’ll go back to Ollantaytambo. According to the time of departure of your train, you will have to be at the train station 30 minutes in advance before the departure of your train. Upon arriving in Ollantaytambo, we will return to the city of Cusco and take you to your respective hotel.

Day 4: Tour of the Southern Valley (visit Tipon, Piquillacta, and Andahuaylillas)

We will be there once again to pick you up from your hotel and take you to the south of Cusco, where we will begin our journey which will be at 9:00am in the morning. Upon the start of your trip, our first stop will be at the archaeological site in Tipon, the most important archaeological site along the tour as well as the most interesting part of the tour. During Inca times, this was a sacred temple, dedicated to the water cult, and was used for agricultural purposes. We will then visit Oropesa, known as the bread capital because of their delicious breads that are made there, known as chuta. We will then visit the Pre-Inca ruins of Piquillaqta, a place that belonged to the Wari civilization. From these ruins, you can get a glimpse of the Huacarpay Lagoon within this beautiful landscape. We will then visit the towns of Piñipampa and Andahuaylillas, with its old colonial church, which will a very important visit.

Day 5: Cusco: Return to your place of origin

Once again we will come pick you up so that we can take you to the airport so that you can catch your flight. We will take you to the Alejandro Velasco Astete Airport here in Cusco.
